Many ECU failures are well-known, repeatable, and absolutely repairable. We see the same Bosch, Siemens, Continental and Delphi units week after week — and we know exactly what fails on each.

Blown drivers.

Output transistors that drive injectors, coils or solenoids can fail. We replace the affected drivers at component level — much cheaper than swapping the whole ECU.

Corrupt EEPROM.

The little memory chip that stores adaptation data, immobiliser keys, mileage, VIN. When it gets corrupt, the ECU goes weird. We rewrite or replace the chip.

Known faults.

Specific ECU part numbers have specific common failures — we know them. Bosch EDC17, Siemens PCR2.1, Continental SIM271 and many others. If yours has a known issue, we fix it the right way.

05 / Mailin

Mail-in service.

Don't want a mobile visit? Send the ECU to us, we repair on the bench and post it back. Useful for older cars, project builds, or jobs where the car's off the road.

Things drivers usually ask.

How do I know if my ECU is actually broken?
Common signs: car cranks but won't start, intermittent stalling, multiple unrelated warning lights, modules dropping off the CAN bus, communication errors with diagnostic scanners. If you're not sure, send us your symptoms and we can usually narrow it down before you commit to a repair.
Is repair cheaper than replacing the ECU?
Almost always. A dealer ECU is typically £600–£1,500+, plus dealer labour to code and pair it. A component-level repair is usually £150–£400 depending on the fault — and your original ECU stays in the car, so no re-pairing or coding needed afterwards.
What if the ECU is too damaged to repair?
We'll tell you honestly. In that case, cloning (if we can still read your original) or used-ECU adaptation (if we can't) is the better route — and we do both.
Can I post the ECU to you instead of a mobile visit?
Yes. Many repair jobs are done bench-side on mail-in ECUs. Useful for project cars, off-road vehicles, or where the car already isn't moving. Typical turnaround is 5–10 working days plus postage either way.
Do you guarantee the repair?
Yes — every component-level repair comes with a 12-month warranty against the same fault recurring. If the same issue comes back within the year, we'll re-repair at no charge.
What if the diagnosis shows there's no fault in the ECU?
It happens — what looks like an ECU fault sometimes turns out to be wiring, a sensor, or another module. If we can't find a fault in the ECU itself, we'll point you towards what we think the real cause is, and not charge for the diagnosis.
